It is usually performed on young girls, leading to enduring physical and mental health problems.<\/p>\n<p>There were 1,030 newly recorded cases of FGM in the UK from October to December last year, according to official figures from NHS Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Muna Adil, the report\u2019s author, said: \u201cWe have all this data but we have no action. This is our best-kept secret.
